The Disability Rights Advocacy Service has recently partnered with Wellbeing SA to organise cancer prevention information workshops for adults with intellectual disability and their families/carers/paid carers from CALD backgrounds.

The workshops will be focused on providing information about the importance of cancer screenings and answer any questions.

The workshop presenters will also get feedback from participants about barriers and facilitators to cancer screening. Please note that cancer screenings will not be provided at the workshop.

A free lunch will be provided, and a $50 voucher will be given to each participant/family that participates in the workshops. The workshops are free to attend.

We have already run successful workshops in Mt Gambier and the Riverland and have two more scheduled in the Adelaide Metropolitan area.

The Adelaide workshops will be held on Tuesday 26 July 10am to 12pm and on Tuesday 2 August 10am to 12pm.

Both workshops will be held at the Thebarton Community Centre, 58 South Road, Torrensville.
