The South Australian Disability Advocate role operated in the Office of the Public Advocate between November 2018 and December 2022.

The role of the Disability Advocate was to:

  • ensure South Australians with a disability and their families, were getting a good deal from the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
  • identify systemic issues with the NDIS
  • advocate to address these systemic issues to the NDIS, the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission and the State for change.

During this time the Disability Advocate prepared submissions and papers with the Public Advocate. These documents can be found on our website.
